KANSAS CITY — Spring is on the horizon, and restaurants are helping consumers prepare for the warmer weather with a seasonal staple: lemonade. The fruity drink flavor is showing up in new slushies, beverages and frozen yogurt.

Taco Bell is serving a new Wild Strawberry Lemonade Freeze, a frozen slushy beverage that blends strawberry and tart lemonade flavors.

Shake Shack is adding a trio of new lemonade-based beverages for spring, including Mango Passionade, Strawberry Salted Limeade and Blackberry Lychee Lemonade.

“Our new seasonal lemonades are a must-try,” said Mark Rosati, culinary director for Shake Shack. “At Shake Shack, we always look to use premium ingredients, from our burgers to our beverages. We took our delicious Shack-made Lemonade and added real fruit purees and zest to create some really fun, bold flavors for the springtime.”

Jamba Electric Berry Lemonade SmoothiePinkberry reimagined lemonade into a frozen yogurt flavor with its new Strawberry Lemonade Frozen Yogurt. The brand recommends topping the treat with strawberries and pineapple.

"We really wanted to capture the essence of outdoor picnics and warmer weather with our new flavor," said Melissa Hubbell, senior director of marketing for Kahala Brands, parent company of Pinkberry. "Strawberry Lemonade is so nostalgic it will fast-forward you right into summer."

Earlier this month, Jamba introduced the Electric Berry Lemonade Smoothie, which blends lemonade, strawberries, grape pear berry juice blend, fat-free vanilla frozen yogurt, raspberry sherbet, peaches and blue spirulina.
