CHARLOTTE, NC. — Abby’s Better, a clean label nut butter and snack brand, raised $1 million in seed funding ahead of its Series A funding launch.

It also added professional basketball player Kevin Love and supermodel Kate Bock as investors.

Founder Abby Kircher launched the brand in 2015 with the goal of creating healthy ways of snacking without sacrificing taste. It offers a range of nut butters and snack bites containing five or fewer ingredients. The products are sweetened with fruits or honey instead of artificial sweeteners and are gluten-free, peanut-free, paleo-friendly and plant-based.

“I started Abby’s Better when I was 15 years old because I noticed the lack in variety of nut butter and healthy snack options that were both flavorful and nutritious,” Ms. Kircher said. “We have an incredibly strong team overseeing sales, marketing and logistics. With our team fully controlling our manufacturing and packaging, we can continue to scale and meet the demands of our fast-growing audience, perfectly positioning our company to capture significant market share.”

Abby’s Better is available in grocery and big box stores throughout North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Georgia, Virginia, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York and Massachusetts, and online through the company’s e-commerce platform.
