NEW YORK — GoGo Squeez, a MOM Group brand, is introducing a line of plant-based pudding in a pouch.
GoGo Squeez AlmondBlend Pudding contains 110 calories, 5 grams of protein and 140 mg of calcium per serving and has 30% less sugar than traditional dairy pudding, according to the company. The shelf-stable, vegan treat comes in four flavors: chocolate, banana, cocoa-hazelnut and vanilla.
“We are thrilled to introduce the first and only plant-based pudding in a pantry-friendly pouch on the market,” said Helene Caillate, chief marketing officer for GoGo Squeez. “We’re proud to continue expanding our portfolio and living our mission of making it easier for families to be healthier and happier. A lot of heart went into developing this new innovation — the combination of portability with less sugar and enhanced nutrition makes it a truly modern option for families looking to offer better-for-you snacks and after-meal treats.”
Created during the COVID-19 quarantine stay-at-home orders, the plant-based pudding was formulated over a two-year period with input from families, the company said. GoGo Squeez collaborated virtually to finalize a recipe that met its taste and nutrition standards.
“I appreciate the thoughtfulness that went into the development of this new pudding,” said Miranda Hammer, MS RD CDN, registered dietitian and author of the blog Crunchy Radish. “Sugar intake is a concern for most parents. GoGo Squeez’s AlmondBlend Pudding allows the option of a treat while also being lower in sugar than your typical dairy pudding. The pudding was also developed to include some of the same nutrients found in dairy products such as calcium and protein, which are important for growing bodies. This pudding is a great plant-based treat that will appeal to kids and their parents regardless of dietary habits. Pudding is a crowd-pleasing treat for kids, and this plant-based, protein-powered pouch is a game-changing innovation.”
GoGo Squeez AlmondBlend Pudding is available at select retailers with availability at mass grocery retailers slated for this summer. The pudding retails for $3.79 per four-count pack.
