NEW YORK — Freshly Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Nestle USA, is introducing Proteins & Sides, its first meal format expansion beyond single-serve entrees.

The multi-serve, ready-to-heat dishes are designed to mix and match to offer meal customization and cooking shortcut options, Nestle said. The proteins are lightly herbed and seasoned, while the sides include better-for-you twists on classic comfort foods. The Proteins & Sides menu includes five proteins and three sides.

The Baked Turkey Meatballs are made with lean ground turkey, mushrooms, cage-free eggs, Parmesan cheese, onion and oats. The meatballs come in a 9.98-oz tray of eight.

The Baked Beef Meatballs are made with ground beef, rolled oats, cage-free eggs, spinach, carrots, onions, Parmesan, mushrooms and Italian herbs. The meatballs come in a 9.2-oz tray of eight.

The Flat Iron Steaks are grilled and lightly seasoned and come in a 9.75-oz tray containing three steaks.

The Grilled Chicken Breasts are tossed with thyme and parsley and come in a 9.75-oz tray of three chicken breasts.

The Grilled Chicken Strips are sliced, lightly seasoned and packaged in a 12-oz tray.

The Masterful Mash features a 50/50 cauliflower-russet potato mash with chives and Greek yogurt. The mash comes in a 16-oz tray.

The Masterful Mac & Cheese is made with gluten-free brown rice and cassava flour pasta in a sauce made with pepper jack, mild cheddar, onion and butternut squash. The pasta comes in a 13-oz tray.

The Carb Swap Cauliflower Rice is bruschetta-style cauliflower rice sauteed and tossed with diced tomato, basil, oregano, garlic, honey and white balsamic. The cauliflower rice comes in a 16-oz tray.

Freshly Proteins & Sides may be added for an upcharge to Freshly’s 4, 6, 10 or 12-meal plans, which start at $8.49 per meal and are available on the company’s website.

The launch of Proteins & Sides follows an eventful year for Freshly, including its 2020 acquisition by Nestle, the launch of FreshlyFit and the opening of new facilities to increase production and fulfillment capacity in Commerce, Calif. and Austell, Ga. Currently, Freshly ships over one million meals per week to customers in 48 states.
