BOULDER, COLO. — Tulia, a new Mediterranean snack brand, is launching a line of on-the-go superfood snacks made with ethically-sourced Mediterranean ingredients.

“Growing up in Israel eating a Mediterranean diet taught me that delicious food can go hand in hand with first-rate nutrition,” said Gadi Friedman, founder and chief executive officer of Tulia. “This principle guides the Tulia vegan snacks collection.”

Tulia Supersnacks are naturally sweet tahini snacks that are plant-based, USDA certified organic, certified kosher and formulated without added sugars. Nut-free, gluten-free and dairy-free, the low-glycemic snacks feature stone-ground tahini made with sesame seeds from Ethiopia’s Humera region. The tahini is paired with ethically-sourced Mediterranean ingredients, including dates, apples and pomegranates. Tulia Supersnacks come in four flavors: chocolate, apple cinnamon, pomegranate and Mighty Date.

The chocolate variety is made with ground sesame seeds, date syrup, water and cocoa powder and contains 160 calories, 12 grams of sugar and 3 grams of protein per pouch.

The apple cinnamon flavor features ground sesame seeds, date syrup, apple juice, water and cinnamon. Each pouch contains 160 calories, 14 grams of sugar and 3 grams of protein.

The pomegranate snack contains ground sesame seeds, date syrup, pomegranate juice and water and contains 160 calories, 14 grams of sugar and 3 grams of protein per pouch.

The Mighty Date Supersnack combines date syrup, ground sesame seeds, water, cinnamon and cardamom. Each pouch contains 170 calories, 14 grams of sugar and 4 grams of protein.

“Our goal is to provide a healthier alternative to sugar-loaded snacks without compromising the luscious flavors we all crave,” Mr. Friedman said. “Our snacks are made with three to four ingredients that have been enjoyed by Mediterranean families for centuries.”

Packaged in 4.2-oz tearaway pouches, Tulia Supersnacks are available on the company’s website in a 16-pouch variety pack for $39.
