LOS ANGELES — Caulipower, which introduced cauliflower-coated chicken two years ago, is innovating in poultry again with a new vegetable. The brand’s new Sweet & Savory Chicken Tenders are crusted with sweet potato.

The baked, gluten-free frozen chicken tenders are made with Naked Truth premium chicken that is cage-free and raised with no antibiotics ever. The chicken is coated in sweet potato, rice flour, garlic, onion, rosemary and sage.

Each two-piece serving of Caulipower Sweet & Savory Chicken Tenders contains 120 calories, 13 grams of protein, 1.5 grams of fat and 1 gram of sugar. That’s 85% less fat and 39% less calories than traditional chicken tenders, Caulipower said.

“We’re always looking for ways to ‘vegolutionize’ America’s favorite comfort foods, making them tastier and better-for-you,” said Gail Becker, founder and chief executive officer of Caulipower. “We’ve already transformed chicken tenders and are now doing it again using an entirely different veggie: sweet potato. We found a way to create chicken tenders that not only taste phenomenal but are the healthiest on the market.”

Caulipower Sweet & Savory Chicken Tenders retail for $9.99 per 14-oz bag. The tenders are available now at Fresh Thyme and will arrive at Mariano’s, Dillons, King Soopers, Fry’s, Fred Meyer, Ralphs, QFC, Smith’s and Kroger stores in early August. Caulipower plans to roll the chicken out to more retailers by the end of 2021.
