NEW YORK — Beyond Better Foods is building out its Enlightened lineup of low-sugar treats with new Sugar-free Chocolate Syrup.
Sweetened with erythritol and monk fruit, Enlightened Sugar-free Chocolate Syrup is made with soluble corn fiber, water, cocoa, salt, natural flavor and citric acid. Each one-tablespoon serving contains 20 calories, 9 grams of fiber, 1 gram of net carbs and no sugar. Traditional chocolate syrup can contain up to 12 grams of net carbs and 10 grams of sugar, the company said.
“You can't have a classic ice cream sundae without a little chocolate syrup on top,” said Michael Shoretz, founder and chief executive officer of Beyond Better Foods. “We’re thrilled to offer a zero-sugar option that doesn't compromise on taste or texture, two aspects that are so important when it comes to chocolate syrup.”
The debut of Enlightened Sugar-free Chocolate Syrup follows the launch of sugar-free ice cream cones in February, which marked the brand’s first foray outside the frozen aisle. Enlightened also offers ice cream pints, ice cream bars, snackable cookie dough bites, keto-friendly cheesecakes and adaptogen-infused fruit bars.
“Now, we have everything you need to build an ideal ice cream sundae — a cone, a scoop of creamy ice cream, a handful of dough bites and a drizzle of syrup — with way less sugar," Mr. Shoretz said.
Enlightened Sugar-free Chocolate Syrup is available now on Amazon for $11.99 per 15-oz bottle and will be rolling out to Whole Foods Market, Sprouts Farmers Market, Pavilions, Albertsons, Fresh Thyme and other retailers in the coming months.
