NEWARK, NJ. — Starburst Airs are set to hit shelves this fall, and maker Mars, Inc. claims the confectionery is “next generation.”

The new aerated gummi candies feature an inflated texture, resulting in a bouncy texture, Mars said. Starburst Airs are available in original and sour tropical packs. The original variety includes strawberry, lemon, orange and cherry flavors and contains 100 calories and 20 grams of sugar per serving. The sour tropical pack includes kiwi strawberry, pineapple, passion fruit and mango candies and contains 110 calories and 20 grams of sugar per serving.

“Starburst is delivering better moments and more smiles to gummi fans with our next-generation aerated gummies – Starburst Airs,” said Justin Hollyn-Taub, senior director of US fruit snacks at Mars Wrigley. “Starburst Airs are reimagined gummies that will leave candy-lovers enamored with the combination of Starburst flavors in a pillow-like texture.”

Starburst Airs will start rolling out to select retailers this fall, with nationwide availability beginning in 2022. The gummies will be packaged in 4.3-oz bags that contain about four servings each.
