SACRAMENTO, CALIF. — Karen Townsend has been named chief financial officer of Trifecta, a Sacramento, Calif.-based organic meal delivery service.

She joins the company with more than two decades of experience in consumer products, with expertise in direct-to-consumer, retail and wholesale operations. She most recently was CFO of clothing manufacturer Brighton Collectibles. Before that she was CFO of Lakeshore Learning Materials, an educational products company, and CFO and vice president of finance at Sole Technology, a footwear and apparel distributor.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration and accounting from San Diego State University and is a certified public accountant with the California Board of Accountancy.

As Trifecta’s first-ever CFO, Ms. Townsend will be responsible for strategic financial planning and execution, private and public investor relations, corporate risk management and treasury functions, and budgeting and financial forecasting.

The inaugural position comes with the intention of future innovation and expansion in both size and scale for Trifecta, which last month raised $20 million in a Series B fundraise. The company plans to use funds from its latest round to expand its core fully prepared meal delivery services and grow its digital offerings.

“We are beyond thrilled to welcome Karen to the Trifecta team,” said Greg Connolly, co-founder and chief executive officer. “She is exceptionally skilled in all aspects of financial operations, and most notably highly effective in leading and managing corporate strategies and driving financial performance which we are confident will make an immediate impact as we continue to position Trifecta for the future.”
