FREMONT, CALIF. — Weee! Inc., an online grocery platform focused on Asian and Hispanic cuisine, raised $425 million in Series E funding at a $4.1 billion valuation.

Founded in 2015 by Larry Liu, Weee! offers a wide assortment of Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese, Filipino, Indian and Latin offerings across a range of categories, from produce and meat to beverages, bakery products, snacks, seasonings and more.

The company will use funds from the Series E round to expand its offerings across new and existing global cuisines. It also plans to scale its grocery and food delivery services to new geographies and invest in warehouse automation and artificial intelligence technologies to improve its customer experience.

The $425 million round was led by SoftBank Vision Fund 2, with participation from Greyhound Capital and existing investors. It brings the company’s total funding to more than $800 million.

Lydia Jett, managing partner at SoftBank Investment Advisors, will join Weee!’s board of directors as part of the Series E round.

“The market for ethnic groceries and food is massively underserved in the United States and we believe that Weee! is in a prime position to meet the demands of customers,” Ms. Jett said. “Weee!’s strong execution capabilities and reach across multiple ethnic groups, coupled with a unique customer experience model leveraging AI, has enabled it to scale effectively in a rapidly evolving grocery market.”
