WAYNE, NJ. – Patriot Pickle has expanded with the acquisition of Farm Ridge Foods’ pickle assets. Based in South Islandia, NY, Farm Ridge Foods is a distributor of pickles products to retailers under its own brand and private label. Terms of the acquisition were not announced.

“This is an exciting time to be a leader in fresh pickle manufacturing,” said Bill McEntee, chief executive officer of Patriot Pickle. “The acquisition of Farm Ridge Foods is a key step toward rounding out and building up our internal retail sales capabilities. Fresh, refrigerated pickles are a key growth area for our retail and foodservice partners, and we are excited to be able to better serve them more directly with this acquisition.”

Patriot Pickle is a part of private equity firm Swander Pace Capital, San Francisco.

“The Farm Ridge Foods acquisition is a value-enhancing add-on for the Patriot Pickle investment platform and strengthens our position in the pickle category,” said Corby Reese, chairman of Patriot Pickle and managing director of Swander Pace Capital. “We will continue to look for interesting investment opportunities within the fermented foods and pickled vegetable category to further establish Patriot Pickle as a leading fermented foods platform.”

Founded in 2008, Farm Ridge Foods is a salad and prepared foods manufacturer with plants in Chicago, Florida and New York.
