LOS ANGELES — Droplet, a female-owned beverage startup, has launched a crowdfunding campaign on NuMarket, a platform that rewards contributors with credits for future purchases. The team has set a $50,000 goal to support retail expansion and new flavors and product development.

Marketed as “self-care in every sip,” Droplet is a brand of sparkling beverages infused with superfoods, herbs and botanicals. Varieties include Pretty Balanced, a blend of white peach, lemon verbena, moringa and ashwagandha; Pretty Happy, which combines passion fruit, cacao, vanilla bean and rhodiola; and Pretty Bright, featuring yuzu citrus, ginger and reishi mushroom.

The products are sold in more than 450 stores in the United States, Canada, European Union and United Kingdom. Droplet’s crowdfunding campaign was created in partnership with AMP, a technology company fueling businesses led by underrepresented entrepreneurs. Funds will be used to hire sales and distribution partners and accelerate limited-edition launches, according to the company.

The founding team includes children of immigrants and doctors who revere herbal medicine as a mainstay in overall wellness. Adrienne Borlongan, co-founder and lead food scientist, also is the founder of artisanal ice cream shop Wanderlust Creamery.
