NEW YORK — The Specialty Food Association’s sofi Award winners have been named, including those awarded for best new product.
The winners of the best new product awards had to have introduced their products to the US markets after Feb. 28, 2021, and before Feb. 28, 2022. The winners are selected by a panel of judges after a blind taste test with other products in the same category.
African Dream Foods took home the New Product sofi Award in the hot sauce category for its Lemon & Garlic Peri-Peri sauce.
“This is an incredible achievement, and I am excited to have our Lemon & Garlic Peri-Peri recognized,” said David Schmunk, founder and managing director of African Dream Foods. “We have always known how special our sauces are and it is a tremendous validation to hear the same from experts in the field.”
Other winners chosen for their innovative products range from breadfruit pancake and waffle mix to plant-based pasta, to upcycled pie crusts.
