NEW BERLIN, WIS. — New Berlin Beverage Co. (NBBC), a newly formed holding company focused on building a portfolio of emerging and innovative beverage brands, has acquired Minna, a line of organic, unsweetened, sparkling iced teas.
Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Founded in New York in 2019 by Ryan Fortwendel, Minna’s portfolio includes canned lightly brewed sparkling tea. Varieties include peach yuzu green tea, cherry cacao green tea, orange mango black tea, pineapple passion fruit green tea and lime hibiscus rooibos tea.
The company’s products are available in Whole Foods and on Amazon.
“In this inflationary economic period, smaller innovative CPG brands are most vulnerable to on-going supply chain issues, leading to added pressure on margins and an inability to fulfill retailer needs,” said Anshu Dua, chief executive officer of NBBC and Minna. “This acquisition will allow Minna to deliver superior supply consistency and price stability for our retailer and distributor customers, while continuing to provide a satisfying beverage to consumers.”
NBBC said it has a strategic partnership with a vertically integrated beverage manufacturing company with domestic aluminum can supply, beverage contract manufacturing and fully integrated warehousing services.
