DES MOINES — Kemin Industries is expanding its portfolio with a line of Luxiva hemp cannabidiol (CBD) distillates for use in health and wellness products. The line includes two hemp CBD distillates that are farmed and produced in the central United States and are USDA-certified organic.

Extracted from the stems, leaves and flowers of Cannabis sativa, the full spectrum hemp distillates contain a minimum of 60% CBD content. One distillate offers a total tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) content of less than 0.3%, and the other offers a total THC content of less than 0.1%. They are created using a clean extraction process and are non-GMO, vegan and kosher, according to Kemin.

“The new products are fully traceable to hemp farms in the Midwest United States,” said Tyler Holstein, global product manager, Kemin Human Nutrition and Health. “Kemin ingredients are made in facilities with third-party Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) certification and products that conform to the law and requirements governing hemp to help customers get new products to market quickly. They provide the added benefit of certification by a credible source — something that CBD consumers look for when making their purchase decisions.”
