MIAMI — Fermented Food Holdings, Inc. (FFH) has purchased the sauerkraut business from GLK Foods, LLC., Appleton, Wis., for an undisclosed sum.

As part of the merger, FFH will acquire several sauerkraut brands, including Silver Floss, Cortland Valley, Saverne and Flannigan. Saverne offers organic and artisanal sauerkraut varieties while the other brands offer conventional flavors.

Brands owned by FFH include Bubbies, a line of pickles and sauerkraut; Wildbrine, which includes sauerkraut, kimchi, salsa and sriracha; and Wildcreamery, a line of dairy alternatives, including butter, sour cream, cream cheese and dips.

“We believe that the acquisition of GLK's sauerkraut business will add critical supply chain capabilities and distribution reach to unlock our next chapter of growth,” said Oliver Joost, co-president of FFH.

GLK Foods will retain its pickled vegetable brand Oh Snap!, the company’s primary avenue for growth since 2021.

“FFH has a vibrant portfolio of brands to add to those of the GLK sauerkraut business and offers a business approach that will be an excellent fit for a business that has been family-owned for four generations,” said Ryan Downs, president of GLK Foods. “We have complete faith that our business is in great hands with the FFH team.”
