KANSAS CITY — New introductions to grocery stores feature new sweet treat formulations and collaborations.

Reese’s, a brand from the Hershey Co., added dipped animal crackers. The crackers, which come in 13 different shapes, are covered in peanut butter candy and dipped in milk chocolate.

“Reese’s Dipped Animal Crackers are sweet and crunchy creating the ultimate snack,” said Nowell Kahle, manager, snacks and grocery at The Hershey Co. “They’re truly something to howl about.”

Häagen-Dazs ice cream is switching from pints and bars to cones, with the introduction of its butter cookie cone. Made from a butter cookie rolled into a cone shape, which is then lined with chocolate and filled with one of four Häagen-Dazs flavors, including vanilla, strawberry, chocolate or coffee. The cones also are topped with various combinations of sauces like raspberry, chocolate fudge, espresso or caramel, and other toppings including cookie pieces and chocolate curls.

“Häagen-Dazs is anything but ordinary and we wanted to bring an extraordinary innovation to our consumers this year that delivered on handheld ice cream trends across the dessert industry,” said Elizabell Marquez, chief marketing officer of Dreyer’s Grand Ice Cream. “Frozen snacks have experienced explosive growth over the years and as category leaders, we recognized an opportunity for the Butter Cookie Cone to deliver on next level indulgence consumers desire and only Häagen-Dazs can deliver.”

Tony’s Chocolonely is partnering with Ben & Jerry’s to debut three co-branded products, in celebration of the Vermont-based ice cream maker committing to Tony’s Open Chain initiative.

Ben & Jerry’s joins Tony’s Chocolonely’s mission to end modern slavery and child labor within the chocolate industry. Tony’s Open Chain initiative, which launched summer 2022, aims to help “companies take responsibility by ensuring a fully traceable cocoa supply chain and paying a higher price to address poverty,” according to the company.

The products added under the collaboration include two chocolate bars inspired by two of Ben & Jerry’s classic flavors: chocolate fudge brownie and strawberry cheesecake, and one ice cream pint under the name Love A-Fair, that is inspired by Tony’s milk chocolate caramel sea salt bar.
