LONDONDERRY, NH. — Organic yogurt maker Stonyfield Organic is investing $7 million to expand its plant in Londonderry by 17,000 square feet, a move the company said will support increased retail distribution and allow the doubling of its pouch output at the plant. The addition of production lines will allow Stonyfield Organic to add 46 million pouches a year to the facility, the company said.
“Stonyfield set the standard for organic yogurt pouches many years ago, and they continue to be our most in-demand product,” said Bill Cassidy, chief executive officer of Stonyfield Organic. “This expansion will accelerate our production of our yogurt pouches and add 35% to our total pouch network to increase accessibility for our consumers.”
The shell of the building will be complete by the end of June, Stonyfield Organic said, with the new yogurt pouch line expected to be operational in October.
Stonyfield Organic yogurt pouches are made with organic milk and fruit and come in a variety of flavors.
