NEW YORK — LiveKindly Collective has acquired frozen plant-based food brand Alpha Foods.
Alpha Foods is LiveKindly’s sixth food brand acquisition since 2020 and its first in the United States.
Alpha Foods manufactures frozen plant-based meals such as burritos, breakfast sandwiches, chicken nuggets, patties, chicken strips, meatballs, macaroni and cheese, and wraps. The products are available nationwide in 11,000 retail stores, as well as through various foodservice channels including military, colleges and universities.
“We are thrilled to be joining the Collective of strong plant-based brands with products in global markets, which will no doubt have a positive impact on our US business,” said Cole Orobetz, chief executive officer and co-founder of Alpha Foods. “This acquisition furthers Alpha’s mission to provide extraordinarily delicious products to the broadest possible audience.”
LiveKindly Collective is a collection of plant-based food brands such as Oumph!, The Fry Family Food Co., LikeMeat, No Meat, and Dutch Weed Burger.
“Our global infrastructure, allowing for better distribution, R&D pliancy and innovation, will open up opportunities in the market and beyond,” said Shaun Richardson, LiveKindly Collective US general manager. “From a business point of view, this asset acquisition will help Alpha become a sustainable operation and propel growth. Consumers can expect more delicious products, stocked shelves and, ultimately, competitive pricing.”
