SAN LEANDRO, CALIF. — Torani is tackling the growing demand for spicy flavors with the launch of Torani sweet heat syrup.
The manufacturer of sauces and syrups for beverages spent two years developing the sweet and spicy infusion, using cayenne chili peppers to create a slow-building heat profile that may appeal to Gen Z and millennial consumers’ interest in complex and unusual offerings, according to Torani. The sweet heat syrup is formulated with pure cane sugar, no artificial flavors and a cold-filtered production process.
“Sweet Heat is a flavor for spice aficionados and anyone who loves to add a dash of heat to their food or drink,” said Andrea Ramirez, consumer and customer market insight manager at Torani.
Sweet heat marks the most recent addition to the company’s sweet flavor pairings, such as its kettle corn syrup, a sweet and salty combination, or sour candy syrup, a sweet and sour mix. Torani’s latest syrup is now available in individual 750-ml bottles and 4-ct packs for $10.59 and $39.86, respectively, online through the company’s website.
