DALY CITY, CALIF. — Unilever brand The Vegetarian Butcher and The Every Co. are partnering together to replace eggs in The Vegetarian Butcher’s plant-based meat products.
The Every Co.’s alternative egg proteins may act as a binding and gelling protein, enabling companies to remove traditional eggs in products, according to the company.
The Vegetarian Butcher’s products, which are formulated from soy, feature little willies, no beef burger, no chicken chunks, no meatballs, no chicken shawarma, no hotdog, no chicken burger and no mince.
The company, founded in 2007 by Jaap Korteweg, also features what the cluck, unbelievaballs, party on the back raw burger, frozen happy go clucky, frozen unbelievaballs, impeccable chicken breast and hentastic.
The Every Co.’s product is a liquid egg developed using precision fermentation to transform yeast into egg proteins.
The Every Co., formerly known as Clara Foods, launched in 2014 and now focuses on providing ingredients to foodservice and consumer packaged goods companies.
