EDEN PRAIRIE, MINN. — Apparo Inc. and Döhler are coming together under a joint development agreement to create ingredients for the food and beverage industries.

The companies will use Apparo’s total crop utilization system and Döhler’s applications to meet growing demand of the industries, according to the companies.

Apparo said it uses its total crop utilization system to upcycle protein and other ingredients from food byproducts.

“We are enthusiastic about working closely with Döhler, an established and innovative supplier to the food and nutrition industry,” said Ian Mackay, chief executive officer of Apparo. “We look forward to the development of significant commercial opportunities.”

Apparo is a plant protein ingredient company that uses a total crop utilization system and designs, licenses and implements processing technologies that differ from traditional crop processing, according to the company.

Döhler is a supplier of natural ingredients, ingredient systems and integrated solutions for the food, beverage and nutrition industry.
