WASHINGTON — Butter, cheese, fruit, vegetable and poultry stocks on June 30, 2013, were higher than year-earlier levels, but egg and red meat stocks were lower, the U.S. Department of Agriculture said in its latest Cold Storage report.

Total frozen egg stocks on June 30 were 30,183,000 lbs, up 5% from May but down 25% from June 2012. Stocks of egg whites were 4,258,000 lbs, up 39% from May but down 2% from June 2012. Frozen egg yolk stocks totaled 2,827,000 lbs, up 19% from May and up 24% from June 2012. Whole and mixed egg stocks were 7,313,000 lbs, down 9% from May and down 38% from June 2012. Unclassified egg stocks were 15,785,000 lbs, up 3% from May but down 28% from June 2012.

Natural cheese stocks on June 30 were 1,148,650,000 lbs, down slightly from 1,150,039,000 lbs in May but up 5% from June 2012. Butter stocks totaled 324,069,000 lbs, up 1% from May and up 33% from June 2012.

Frozen turkey stocks totaled 566,367,000 lbs, up 9% from May and up 4% from June 2012, the U.S.D.A. said. Total chicken stocks were 664,084,000 lbs, down 2% from May but up 3% from June 2012. Total frozen poultry stocks were 1,232,268,000 lbs, up 3% from May and up 3% from June 2012.

Frozen red meat supplies totaled 1,070,249,000 lbs, down 8% from May and down 2% from June 2012. Frozen pork stocks were 564,924,000 lbs, down 14% from May and down 5% from June 2012. Beef stocks in freezers totaled 480,625,000 lbs, down slightly from 482,568,000 lbs in May, but up 3% from June 2012.
Stocks of frozen orange juice concentrate totaled 997,645,000 lbs, down 4% from May but up 4% from June 2012. Stocks of all types of frozen fruit were 954,835,000 lbs, down 1% from May but up 7% from June 2012.

Stocks of frozen french fries were 1,013,268,000 lbs, up 9% from May and up 10% from June 2012. Total vegetable stocks (excluding potatoes) were 1,653,319,000 lbs, up 5% from both May 2013 and June 2012.
