FOSTER CITY, CALIF. — Food and beverage innovation firm Mattson, Foster City, Calif., has named Steve Gundrum as its first chief artificial intelligence officer. Gundrum also serves as the company’s chairman of the board.
Gundrum has been leading development of new technology and trend driven innovation services at the company for more than 36 years, according to the company.
“The arrival of AI changes everything,” Gundrum said. “It will be used to enhance our holistic innovation approach, from strategy and insights to ideation, concept development, product development and commercialization.”
While leading the development of new technology and trend driven innovation, Mattson said Gundrum led its service ProtoThink AI. Mattson said its ProtoThink AI platform uses a cloud-based approach, which enables clients to partner with Mattson to explore ideas quickly to enable the identification of bigger ideas through the use of AI models created for each engagement.
Other AI services Mattson offers include RI+AI, which uses its teams intelligence with AI, and Food Studio Ideation, a collaborative work session with AI-enhancement is able to generate more ideas than previous iterations of the process, according to the company.
