KANSAS CITY — Foodservice operators are combatting the hotter weather with new summer beverage launches.

Los Angeles-based The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf has debuted a line of co-branded limited-time drinks in collaboration with tokidoki, a lifestyle brand. Inspired by tokidoki characters, the new varieties include Chocotella, a dark chocolate hazelnut blend with chocolate whipped cream, sprinkles and a topping of dark chocolate drizzle; strawberry milk, a whole-milk beverage infused with strawberry and layered with a strawberry-drizzled cream topping and strawberry syrup bottom; and boba Bob, an iced chai latte with brown sugar boba, a cream cap and a caramel drizzle. The products are now available through Aug. 20 in stores.

“The new beverages are a testament to the shared creativity between our brands and we truly can't wait for our guests to taste the new flavors, which are inspired by the delightful and engaging tokidoki characters,” said Lisa Ransom, global chief marketing officer of The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf.

Tim Hortons has unveiled three new drinks as part of its summer menu additions. The beverages are now available in participating Tim Hortons locations nationwide, with flavors such as: Cocoa Caramel Crunch Iced Capp, featuring the brand’s signature frozen coffee blend infused with roasted pecan and vanilla flavors and topped with cocoa caramel crunch bites; butter pecan cold brew with cocoa caramel crunch bites and butter pecan-flavored cold foam; and mango lemonade, a blend of mango puree and Tim Hortons lemonade, which can be ordered in either a frozen or iced format.

Convenience chain 7-Eleven, Inc. is getting into pumpkin spice with several pumpkin-flavored drinks. The company has developed a new pumpkin spice-flavored cold brew variety, and both pumpkin spice coffee and pumpkin spice lattes are returning to stores. All three offerings are now available nationwide. The chain also is launching a pumpkin spice-flavored Slurpee for a limited-time at five select stores across the United States.

“7-Eleven customers are huge pumpkin spice fans, so we’re always looking for reasons to bring out the pumpkins a bit early and delight customers with new creations,” said Dennis Phelps, senior vice president of merchandising (vault & proprietary beverages) at 7-Eleven.
