KANSAS CITY — Foodservice operators are debuting limited-time menu additions.

California Pizza Kitchen (CPK) has partnered with Mike’s Hot Honey to create a “swicy” flavor collaboration. The Nashville-style hot honey pizza features hand-battered chicken, ranchito sauce, mozzarella cheese, cayenne seasoning, dill pickles and a drizzle of Mike’s Hot Honey extra hot sauce. The pizza is now available at CPK locations nationwide through Sept. 30. CPK also is re-releasing fall seasonal offerings, including pumpkin cheesecake.

“We set out to give our guests an unexpected pizza collaboration,” said Paul Pszybylski, vice president of culinary innovation at CPK. “Since we love fusing flavors and cuisines together, we knew hot chicken and hot honey should come together.”

Freddy's Frozen Custard & Steakburgers is bringing back its grilled cheese steakburger, along with its seasonal pumpkin pie concrete and pumpkin pie shake. The sandwich comes with two steakburger patties, American cheese, Swiss cheese, bacon, a tomato spread and Texas toast. Freddy’s additionally launched a new side, tater tots, and a caramel apple pie concrete. All of the limited-time offerings are available now through Oct. 22.

“Our grilled cheese steakburger was our best-selling limited-time offer last year and we brought it back this year by popular demand,” said Laura Rueckel, chief marketing officer at Freddy’s. “The addition of our savory tomato spread creates a nostalgic flavor that is reminiscent of dipping grilled cheese into tomato soup.”

North Carolina-based Bojangles, Inc. is launching chicken wings for a limited time in anticipation of the beginning of the National Football League season. The wings are debuting in classic, barbecue and Buffalo flavors alongside the company’s house-made ranch, a new permanent menu item. Bojangle’s wings are available in packages of 20, 40 and 60, or purchased individually as a meal addition.
