ELIZABETH, NJ. — Gellert Global Group’s Atalanta Corp. has acquired Big Picture Foods, a company that produces Mediterranean foods. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. It is Atalanta’s second acquisition of the year, preceded by the company’s acquisition of J.A Kirsch.

“We are thrilled to welcome Big Picture Foods to the Atalanta family,” said Tom Gellert, president of Atalanta. “Their commitment to quality and sustainability perfectly complements our values, and we are excited to bring their exceptional products to even more consumers.”

The acquisition will provide Big Picture Foods with the support it needs to reach new markets, according to Atalanta.

The company will keep its current leadership team.

The major benefits of the acquisition are an enhanced product portfolio for Big Picture Foods, a commitment to sustainability for the companies and a market expansion for Big Picture Foods, according to Atalanta.

“We’re excited to join the Atalanta family,” said Daniela Jense, co-founder of Big Picture Foods. “This partnership allows us to remain true to our mission of creating clean ingredient foods that nourish people, support farmers and restore the planet while gaining access to the extensive resources that Atalanta brings. Together, we will continue to innovate and transform our food system for the better.”
