NEWARK, NJ. — Mars, Inc. is debuting an innovation to its Skittles brand candy with Skittles Pop’d freeze-dried candy. The candy will be available in original and sour flavors.
“At Mars, we’re constantly looking for innovative ways to deliver new experiences to our fans, based on flavor profiles and texture trends that we know consumers are seeking,” said Ro Cheng, marketing vice president, Mars Wrigley North America. “Skittles Pop’d trades Skittles’ traditionally chewy lentils (how Mars refers to the individual candies) for a crispy, crunchy texture that we know our fans are really going to enjoy.”
Skittles Pop’d original will include strawberry, lemon, lime, orange and grape flavored candy. The sour variation will include sour lemonade, sour blue raspberry, sour strawberry, sour watermelon and sour cherry.
The candy is offered in 5.5-oz variety packs and will be available on the brand’s TikTok shop starting Oct. 21. Select retailers will begin selling the candy later this fall, and the candy will have a nationwide rollout in 2025.
