KANSAS CITY — Beverage manufacturers are providing health-focused, plant-based alternatives.
Danone North America brand Silk has debuted Silk Kids, a plant-based milk formulated for children. The milk blends oats and peas and provides 8 grams of protein per serving, according to the company.
“We’re excited to offer a new delicious plant-based beverage made specifically for kids to help keep them nourished as they continue to grow,” said Kallie Goodwin, senior vice president, plant-based beverages at Danone North America.
Whole Moon has launched a plant-based beverage with protein. The beverage is formulated with soybeans and is available in oat, almond and pistachio flavors.
“Our Whole Moon beverages were designed for people who want a plant-based option without sacrificing taste or nutrition,” said Susan Knight, president of Whole Moon.
Edenesque has entered the plant-based beverage category with its plant-based milk offerings. Unsweetened oat milk, barista blend oat milk and barista blend pistachio milk options are available.
