WESTCHESTER, ILL. — Ingredion, Inc. has expanded its plant protein line with the addition of Vitessence Pea 200 D that is intended for nutrition beverage manufacturers, according to the company.

Ingredion said Vitessence Pea 200 D is an 80% protein ingredient that may be used in such applications as ready-to-mix protein beverages. Ingredion also said it may offer improved dispersibility for applications where higher solubility is needed for creating a smooth and creamy mouthfeel.

Other attributes include faster dispersibility in beverage solutions and a smooth texture without grittiness for plant protein nutritional beverages, according to Ingredion.

“This product will help manufacturers appeal to ready-to-mix beverage consumers seeking plant-protein fortification with superior flavor and texture,” said Jeff Billig, vice president and general manager of protein fortification at Ingredion.
