JACKSON, MISS. — Koch Foods is planning to invest $145.5 million to expand its poultry processing operation in Morton, Miss., according to the Mississippi Development Authority (MDA). The expansion is expected to create 128 jobs in the next five years.

MDA said Koch plans to expand its processing and distribution operations and rehab the facility in Morton. The authority plans to provide assistance through the Mississippi Flexible Tax Incentive (MFLEX) program.

“Koch Foods appreciates the support of the state of Mississippi, including not only the Mississippi Development Authority but all the local and state government agencies that make doing business in Mississippi efficient and business friendly,” said Mark Kaminsky, chief operating officer of Koch Foods.

Mississippi Governor Tate Reeves said the expansion “is another big win for Mississippi.”

“Koch Foods’ $146 million investment speaks volumes about what’s happening in our state,” Reeves said. “We have a pro-business mindset, skilled workforce and prime location that offers efficient access to major domestic and international markets.”
