KANSAS CITY — The holiday season is in full swing, and companies are debuting a plethora of seasonal product and menu innovations.
Subway is continuing to experiment with its footlong cookie format with the double chocolate peppermint footlong cookie. The offering merges Subway’s double chocolate chip cookie dough, made using chocolate and white chips, with peppermint extract and red and white candy cane pieces.
“The holiday season is synonymous with cookies, making it the perfect time to introduce this new warm, flavor-packed footlong cookie to our snack menu,” said Paul Fabre, senior vice president of culinary and innovation at Subway.
Bimbo Bakeries USA added hot cocoa with marshmallow muffins to its Entenmann’s Little Bites Snacks portfolio. The products are formulated with chocolate and miniature marshmallows to deliver cocoa flavor notes, according to the company. The snacks contain 180 calories per serving.
Tim Hortons, a Restaurant Brands International subsidiary, unveiled its festive line of beverages and baked foods with three new items. Beverages include the hot or iced holiday chai latte, which comes in peppermint and gingerbread flavors, and baked foods include the snowman donut, topped with vanilla-flavored icing decorated like a snowman face with sweet cream filling, and the holiday sugar dream cookie, a white chocolate chip sugar cookie with red and green sprinkles, vanilla-flavored icing, peppermint bark crumbles and a miniature gingerbread man cookie.
