VAUGHAN, ONT. — Private equity firm SK Capital Partners has acquired Spectra Confectionery Ltd, a Canadian manufacturer of confectionery products, including sprinkles, crystals, nonpareils and others. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
Spectra’s leadership team will remain with the company, including John Georgas, managing director, and Nikolaos Georgas, president of operations.

SK Capital said the acquisition continues the company’s emphasis on the food ingredients sector. The acquisition is the company’s seventh food ingredient-based investment, following deals with J&K Ingredients, Phoenix Flavors & Fragrances, Tilley Distribution, Florachem, AEB Group and Niacet Corp.
