KANSAS CITY — Innovations in the nut and nut butter sector are making their way onto retailer shelves.

Blue Diamond is fusing classic flavors with mixed nut blends with the launch of Almonds and More. The product line features honey roasted almonds and more, roasted sea salt almonds and more and smokehouse almonds and more.

“We’ve found that nearly half of consumers consider flavor to be the most important factor when purchasing snacks, but there was a lack of flavor choice in the mixed nut category,” said Maya Erwin, vice president of marketing and innovation at Blue Diamond. “No one knows flavors like Blue Diamond, so we created Almonds and More to meet consumers’ appetite for premium and protein packed flavor options so they can get the most from their favorite snack nuts.”

SNAX-Sational Brands is collaborating with J.M. Smucker and Jif with the debut of PB&J Pop. The product blends popcorn with Jif peanut butter and a choice of Smucker’s grape or strawberry jelly.

Skinny Dipped is changing things up with the release of topless peanut butter cups. The cups are formulated with 3 grams of sugar and are available in a 4-pack for $22.99 on Amazon.
