KANSAS CITY — More protein-focused products are hitting retail shelves.

Nestle brand Vital Pursuit is launching a line of protein-packed frozen pizzas. Two flavors will be available in January 2025: Max Pro Cheese Lovers Pizza and Max Pro Chicken Mozzarella Pizza. Each thin-crust pizza contains 33 grams of protein and 17 grams of fiber per serving.

General Mills brand Cheerios is adding a new protein-fortified cereal to its line of offerings. Cheerios Protein comes in two flavors: cinnamon and strawberry. The cereal offers 8 grams of protein per serving.

“Starting the day off with additional protein can help our consumers meet their nutritional needs — especially with a reliable and delicious option from a brand they already know and love,” said Emilie Know, vice president and business unit director, Morning Foods at General Mills. “As protein continues to be an important priority for people of all ages, we specifically created Cheerios Protein with families in mind.”

Sports nutrition brand Dymatize, a BellRing Brands, Inc. brand, is innovating the sports nutrition sector with two new products. The brand is partnering with Post Holdings to launch Performance Protein Shakes. The shakes are available in Fruity Pebbles and Cocoa Pebbles flavors and are formulated with 30 grams of protein. Additionally, the brand is releasing a pre-workout powder that is formulated with 150 mg of caffeine, 50 mg of I-Theanine, 500 mg of I-Tyrosine and 5 grams of branched-chained amino acids. The Energyze Pre-Workout powder is available in strawberry lemonade, peach mango and lemon lime flavors.

“Dymatize consumers are laser-focused on improving upon their best, and they’re always tweaking their approach to fitness and nutrition to level up their fitness and find an edge,” said Ritu Mathur, general manager of Dymatize. “With these new products, we’re able to double-down on that commitment by fueling consumers at more stages of their workout and recovery routine, whether it’s providing an extra, sustained boost of energy or a convenient way to help support muscle recovery and growth.”
