OAK BROOK, ILL. — TreeHouse Foods, Inc. has completed the acquisition of certain subsidiaries of Harris Freeman & Co., Inc., Anaheim, Calif., for $205 million. The business includes the private brand tea business that markets products to retail and foodservice and has manufacturing plants in Moorestown, NJ, and Marietta, Ga.

“The acquisition of Harris Tea is a good use of our balance sheet strength, bringing a fast-growing, margin-accretive business into TreeHouse Foods, and giving us an immediate leadership position in private label tea,” said Steve Oakland, chairman, chief executive officer and president of TreeHouse Foods. “Harris Tea’s capabilities in tea sourcing, blending and packing, as well as its scale, industry expertise, and customer relationships, fit our strategy well.”
