Food Entrepreneur TAMPA, FLA.  — Nourish has launched its flagship product — instant chia protein pudding. The product is formulated with pea protein, sprouted brown rice protein and upcycled chia powder.

“People tell me the addictive texture is unlike anything they’ve ever had,” said Arianna Beetz, PhD, founder of Nourish. “(It’s) like the pudding version of mochi or marshmallow creme.”

The goal for the company is to provide “the protein content of conventional protein powder or meal replacement.”

Beetz, who refers to herself as a “Peruvian-born wellbeing expert academic-turned-entrepreneur,” said Nourish stems back to her childhood when she often ate chia quinoa porridges for breakfast.

Beetz said family members who suffered from sickness and poor metabolic health also encouraged her to launch the company.

"Every time I had to drink my meals in the form of shakes, I was unsatisfied,” she said.  “So, I turned to my Peruvian roots and redefined my childhood breakfast."

The instant chia protein pudding features 22 grams of plant-based protein and 5 to 6 grams of fiber per serving.

The product also has no added sugar, less than 10 grams of net carbohydrates and was produced to “support gut health and balance blood sugar levels,” according to the company.

The company uses upcycled chia powder, which is a byproduct of cold-pressing chia oil. This process, the company said, enables it to bypass the need for gelatins and processed binders.

Nourish is available in two flavors including chocolate bliss and almond spice lucuma. To prepare, consumers add water or milk to the powder and stir.

“It (chocolate bliss) has a touch of cinnamon, making it reminiscent of my abuela's thick hot chocolate," Beetz said. “Almond spice lucuma contains cinnamon, ginger, and lucuma, an Andean superfood with prebiotic properties. Known as the gold of the Incas, lucuma tastes like caramel-butterscotch and is Peru's most popular ice cream flavor.”
