LOUISVILLE, KY. — Yum! Brands confirmed on Feb. 18 that it plans to relocate the KFC US corporate offices to Plano, Texas, from its current location in Louisville, Ky.

The company said approximately 100 KFC US corporate roles will move in the next six months.

The KFC and Pizza Hut global teams from Yum! Brands already are based in Plano, and the Taco Bell and Habit Burger & Grill teams are located in Irvine, Calif.

“These changes position us for sustainable growth and will help us better serve our customers, employees, franchisees and shareholders,” said David Gibbs, chief executive officer of Yum! Brands. “Ultimately, bringing more of our people together on a consistent basis will maximize our unrivaled culture and talent as a competitive advantage. I’m confident this is another important step in growing our iconic restaurant brands globally.” 

In its notice, KFC also said employees working remotely will be asked to relocate to the campus in Texas. Yum! said employees will receive relocation and transition support.

With the decision to relocate headquarters, the company announced it would provide a $1 million endowment to the College of Business at the University of Louisville. Yum! Brands, and the KFC Foundation also plan to maintain some Louisville corporate offices.
