BALTIMORE — Mason Dixie Foods is expanding its product line with the addition of breakfast burritos and crispy chicken sandwiches. The products are made with clean ingredients, according to the company.

The crispy chicken sandwich is available in crispy chicken sandwich and spicy chicken biscuit. The crispy chicken sandwich offers 16 grams of protein, and the spicy chicken biscuit offers 11 grams of protein.

The breakfast burrito is available in sausage; egg and cheese; chorizo and carnivore. Each burrito offers 14 to 15 grams of protein and has a base formula of cage-free eggs, Monterey Jack and cheddar cheese, skillet potatoes and green chile.

“We’re on a mission to clean-up the frozen food aisle with better ingredients and great-tasting comfort food,” said Ayeshah Abuelhiga, founder and chief executive officer at Mason Dixie Foods. “We took inspiration from our own restaurant recipes to create delicious, all-natural handhelds made with only real ingredients you’d find in your own kitchen. For far too long, consumers have had to sacrifice ingredient quality to enjoy their favorite American classics. Now even restaurants are sacrificing quality ingredients for low cost, artificial substitutions. Our new burritos and crispy chicken sandwiches are proof that it is possible to simplify an ingredient panel without sacrificing flavor.”

The sandwiches may be purchased at Whole Foods Markets this spring. The burritos may be purchased at Whole Foods Markets, Wegman’s and Giant Foods this spring.
