MINNEAPOLIS — Maazah has expanded its Middle Eastern inspired sauce portfolio with the launch of lentil dips. The plant-based dips are offered in four varieties including basil jalapeno, lemon tahini, roasted red pepper and turmeric ginger.
The products are formulated with cooked lentils, tahini, lemon juice, oil, garlic and ginger.
“We’re thrilled to expand the Maazah family with our new lentil dips and couldn’t think of a better partner than Lunds & Byerlys to introduce them to more shoppers,” said Yasameen Sajady, co-founder of Maazah. “These dips are a reflection of our love for bold flavors, wholesome ingredients, and the joy of sharing food with loved ones.”
Maazah was founded by sisters Yasameen and Sheilla Sajady after finding inspiration from their mother’s Afghanistan-style cooking.
Specifically, the founders said their mother’s “signature Afghan chutney recipe, or magic green sauce,” is the brainchild behind their company.
The startup launched nationally with Whole Foods Market in November 2024 with its sauce line in three varieties that include cilantro chutney, mango chutney and lemon aioli.
Sheilla Sajady said the lentil dips will expand into further distribution with other retailers later this year.Enjoying this content? Learn about more disruptive startups on the Food Entrepreneur page.
