KANSAS CITY — Ice cream and frozen novelty makers are experimenting with frozen dessert formats.
For example, Burlington, Vt.,-based Ben & Jerry’s, a Unilever brand, launched a sundae ice cream line. The sundae products include flavors such as: Cookie Vermont-ster, vanilla ice cream with chocolate chip cookies, vanilla whipped topping, fudge swirls and fudge chips; Dulce-Delish, salted caramel ice cream with caramel whipped topping, caramel swirls and sea salt fudge chunks; Choco-lotta Cheesecake, chocolate cheesecake ice cream with chocolate cookies, chocolate cookie swirls, vanilla whipped topping, fudge swirls and sea salt fudge chunks; and Turtle, buttery ice cream with fudge-covered almonds, pretzel swirls, vanilla whipped topping, caramel swirls, and fudge-covered pretzel pieces.
Dreyer’s Grand Ice Cream, a Froneri business, debuted an ice pops brand under its umbrella with Frollies. The bars are contain 60 calories per serving, with flavors such as watermelon, sweet pineapple and strawberry. Each ice pop is formulated from a blend of fruit and fruit juice, and the watermelon and strawberry varieties also contain chocolate pieces.
Kellanova collaborated with Golden West Food Group to launch a line of ice cream products inspired by Eggo and Rice Krispies Treats. The Eggo offerings include a maple pint, a chocolate chip pint, a blueberry pint, a maple ice cream sandwich, a chocolate chip ice cream sandwich and a blueberry ice cream sandwich. The Rice Krispies Treats products include original ice cream pint, original ice cream sandwich, strawberry ice cream sandwich and triple chocolate ice cream sandwich.
