WESTERVILLE, OHIO — Mondelez International executive Tanya Berman is leaving the company to join T. Marzetti Co., a Lancaster Colony Corp. subsidiary, as president of the retail business unit.
Plans call for Berman to start in her new role on April 21, Westerville-based T. Marzetti said. In the post, she will oversee the sales, marketing and innovation functions of T. Marzetti’s portfolio of retail brands and licensed products.
At Mondelez, Berman has served as senior vice president of the biscuit unit, leading the company’s US portfolio of cookie and cracker brands, since joining the snacks and confections giant in January 2022.
Overall, Berman brings 25 years of experience in general management and marketing, including a track record of spurring growth across a range of categories in the food and consumer packaged goods sectors. Before her stint at Mondelez, she spent more than six years at Mars Inc. in several leadership roles, including vice president of the chocolate business unit and senior brand director of M&Ms for Mars Wrigley.
Berman entered the packaged food sector after nearly 16 years in marketing and product director posts for various over-the-counter health and personal care categories at Merck Consumer Care (sold to Bayer Consumer Care in 2014) and Johnson & Johnson Consumer Products.
“Tanya is a strong addition to our executive leadership team and a great fit to lead our retail business,” said Dave Ciesinski, president and chief executive officer of Lancaster Colony. “She has tremendous experience with iconic brands, and I am confident in her ability to grow both our owned and licensed brands as we continue to deliver on our company’s growth strategy.”
T. Marzetti’s roster of brands includes Marzetti dressings and dips, New York Bakery frozen garlic bread and Sister Schubert’s dinner rolls, along with a range of licensed products such as Olive Garden dressings, Chick-fil-A sauces and dressings, Buffalo Wild Wings sauces, Arby’s sauces, Subway sauces, and Texas Roadhouse steak sauces and frozen rolls. The company’s foodservice business supplies sauces, dressings, bread and pasta to leading US restaurant chains.
