Food Entrepreneur NEW YORK —The Specialty Food Association (SFA) has hired Mary Beth Vultee for the newly created role of senior vice president, membership.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Mary Beth to the SFA,” said Bill Lynch, president of the SFA. “Her deep industry knowledge, strategic mindset, and passion for supporting emerging brands make her an ideal fit. I’m confident she’ll play a key role in helping us expand the year-round value we deliver to our members.”

Vultee joins the company from Whole Foods Market, where she most recently was executive leader of design.

She joined Whole Foods Market in January 2012 as culinary director. She held various leadership positions in operations and merchandising with the company.

Vultee also was the executive leader for local, emerging brands and product innovation, which launched the Local and Emerging Brands Accelerator Program (LEAP).

Prior to Whole Foods, Vultee was a national sales manager at The Chef’s Warehouse and earlier was a personal chef and also a restaurant and catering chef.
