CAMDEN, NJ. — The Campbell’s Co. has promoted Elizabeth Duggan to president of its Snacks division and Janda Lukin to the newly created post of chief growth officer.
Plans call for Duggan, senior vice president and general manager at Campbell’s Company of Canada, to take the helm as president of the Snacks business unit on May 12, Campbell’s announced late on April 15. Lukin, senior vice president and chief marketing officer for Snacks, is slated to start as chief growth officer on June 2. Both will report directly to Mick Beekhuizen, president and chief executive officer, and become members of Campbell’s operating committee.
Duggan takes the reins as Snacks president from Chris Foley, who is leaving Campbell’s after 25 years at the company. Foley, who has been president of Snacks since 2022, will stay with Campbell’s until July to assist in the leadership transition, the company said.
Taking over from Duggan as president of the Canadian business, Campbell’s said, will be Mackenzie Davison, vice president of marketing for Canada. A successor to Lukin as chief marketing officer for Snacks hasn’t yet been named, according to the company.
“Elizabeth and Janda have each played pivotal roles in transforming Campbell’s over the last several years,” Beekhuizen said. “They are the right leaders to drive our strategy and take our performance to the next level.”
In her new role, Duggan is responsible for the long-term growth and margin expansion of the Snacks division. She joined Campbell’s in 2019 as senior vice president of the transformation office and then in 2022 was appointed senior vice president and general manager of the Canadian business unit. In that post, Campbell’s said, Duggan delivered “significant revenue and earnings growth,” while her team also led the Canadian launch of new products such as limited-edition Goldfish and Kettle Brand Air Fried potato chips.
Duggan came to Campbell’s from McKinsey & Co., where she focused on the global consumer goods and retail sectors. Prior to that, she was vice president of operations at meal kit provider Home Chef, which was acquired by The Kroger Co. in 2018.
“Elizabeth is a strong operator and culture builder, with a track record of fostering winning teams,” Beekhuizen said. “Her broad commercial and operational experience is well-suited to unlock growth of our Snacks division.”
As chief growth officer, Lukin will lead enterprise growth strategies, responsible for boosting key commercial capabilities and driving transformative growth via insights and analytics, as well as enhancing the consumer experience and activations, innovation and revenue growth management, Campbell’s said.
A 20-year food industry veteran, Lukin joined Campbell’s in 2016 as vice president of beverage marketing and then was named vice president of soup marketing in 2018, leading the strategy that returned that category to growth, the company noted. She became chief marketing officer for Snacks in 2019. In that role, Campbell’s said, she elevated brand relevance and “significantly increased the pace of innovation” in Snacks, including via the launch of a limited-edition model that spurred growth and heightened consumer engagement. Campbell’s Snacks portfolio includes billion-dollar brands such as Goldfish and Pepperidge Farm as well as other brands like Cape Cod, Kettle Brand, Lance, Late July, Snack Factory and Snyder’s of Hanover.
Previously, Lukin spent 14 years at Mondelez International, where she led the Oreo and Chips Ahoy! business and the team that launched belVita breakfast in the United States and served as the general manager of global ecommerce. Earlier in her career, she held marketing roles at Kraft Foods.
“Janda brings a history of high performance at Campbell’s and elsewhere leading brand strategy, marketing, insights and innovation,” Beekhuizen said. “She has the expertise and vision needed to accelerate our growth and deliver top-tier performance.”
Beekhuizen noted Foley’s “tremendous contributions during his Campbell’s career,” which has included leading the company’s Snacks and Meals & Beverages divisions.
“He is an outstanding executive and person who leaves a legacy of excellence at our company,” Beekhuizen said. “He has been a valued partner to me and others, and we all wish him the best in the next step in his career.”
Foley came to Campbell’s in 1999. Prior to his current post as Snacks president, he was president of Meals & Beverages from 2019-22 and chief marketing officer for Snacks from 2018-19, where the company said he played a key role in the Snyder’s-Lance acquisition and integration. Earlier, he was general manager of Campbell’s Australia and New Zealand businesses from 2011-13 and general manager of fresh and frozen bakery for Pepperidge Farm. Foley also was marketing director for China.
“After 25 incredible years, the time has come for me to move on,” Foley said. “This company has been a place of growth and a source of endless pride. I am deeply grateful for the talented teams, inspiring colleagues and the opportunity to contribute to such an iconic business.”
