CHARLOTTE, NC. — A new limited-edition offering from Krispy Kreme Inc. brings together the tastes of two dessert favorites: donuts and cheesecake.

Launched April 22, the Krispy Kreme Craving Cheesecake Collection melds the brand’s light donuts with the rich, creamy flavors of popular cheesecakes to create a blend of “melt-in-your-mouth textures with irresistible sweetness,” the Charlotte-based donut and coffee shop company said.

The “silky and sweet” donuts, described by Krispy Kreme as “cheesecake-inspired,” come in three varieties: Strawberry Dream Cheesecake, Cookies & Kreme Cheesecake and Caramel Delight Cheesecake.

An unglazed shell donut filled with cheesecake-flavored cream, the Strawberry Dream Cheesecake donut is dipped in strawberry-flavored icing and berry-flavored graham crunch and then drizzled in white icing, Krispy Kreme said. Similarly, the Cookies & Kreme Cheesecake variety features an unglazed shell donut filled with cookies-and-cream cheesecake-flavored filling that is then dipped in white icing, half-dipped in chocolate cookie crumble and dusted with powdered topping.

A cinnamon sugar-ring donut, the Caramel Delight Cheesecake donut is topped with cheesecake-flavored buttercream and salted caramel-flavored graham crunch and then drizzled with caramel-flavored icing.
