KANSAS CITY — Foodservice operators are expanding their menus with entree additions.

McDonald’s Corp. has introduced McCrispy Strips, marking the company’s first permanent US menu item added since 2021. The chicken product features 100% white meat, breading and black pepper flavor. McDonald’s previously launched the strips as Buttermilk Crispy Tenders, but the product was put on hold in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“The demand for chicken strips has been remarkable to see across the industry, so we knew we had to deliver something so craveable that it was worth the wait,” said Alyssa Buetikofer, chief marketing and customer experience officer at McDonald's.

Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers continues to explore burger innovations with the barbecue brisket steakburger. The offering combines sliced brisket with two steakburger patties, American cheese, pickles, onion, barbecue sauce and a King’s Hawaiian bun.

“Freddy’s newest barbecue brisket steakburger is a delicious combination of bold, smoky flavors with tender, pit-smoked brisket layered on top of our signature steakburger patties,” said Erin Walter, chief marketing officer. “Each bite delivers a perfectly savory taste with a hint of sweetness from the barbecue sauce.”

Bonefish Grill has debuted a new collection of dishes under the “Chef-Curated Selections” menu. The line includes such items as margarita sea bass, bourbon glazed salmon, pan-seared ahi tuna, horseradish butter-topped filet mignon and tomato shrimp linguine.

“We developed this exciting new menu based on feedback from both our guests and team members,” said Jeremy Lett, executive chef at Bonefish Grill. “It combines culinary expertise and a cocktail forward experience.”
