Food Entrepreneur WASHINGTON — Laoban is expanding its Asian-inspired frozen food lineup with the addition of a new collection – Crunchy Bites. The items include crab Rangoon, scallion pancakes and Taiwanese popcorn chicken that are air-fryer ready.

Laoban’s co-founders Patrick Conye and Tim Ma said the products were inspired by what Ma grew up eating in his family’s restaurants and also what consumers order at restaurants, takeout or delivery.

“We set out to capture the joy of Asian takeout classics, while making them easy to enjoy anytime at home,” said Ma.

The crab Rangoon and scallion pancakes will roll out in select Whole Foods Market stores nationwide in June. The Taiwanese popcorn chicken will roll out in August.

“We chose these items because they got us the most excited,” said Coyne. ”When you think of the dishes you always have to order anytime you’re at a restaurant or getting takeout or delivery, you’re always getting an order of scallion pancakes and crab Rangoon. We haven’t seen these dishes widely available in grocery stores, and we’re thrilled to be able to make them accessible to everyone everywhere and easy enough to prepare at home in a few minutes.”

The scallion pancakes are available for a suggested retail price of $6.99, the crab Rangoons are available for a suggested retail price of $7.99 and the Taiwanese popcorn chicken will be available for a suggested retail price of $8.99.
