NEW YORK — Food and beverage manufacturers exhibited many new product innovations at the 2025 Summer Fancy Food Show, held June 29-July 1 in New York.

The annual event, hosted by the Specialty Food Association, attracted nearly 2,500 exhibitors this year.

Product innovations emphasized consumer interest in factors such as convenience, functional benefits and healthier food and beverage options.

Take BrainPop, a beverage brand from New Age Foods, for example. BrainPop drinks aim to provide brain health, energy and focus while avoiding the crash associated with other energy beverages, according to the company. Each 12-oz can is formulated with 90 mgs of caffeine, derived from green tea, green coffee bean and guarana, 7 grams of organic cane sugar and added nutrients such as taurine, theanine, creatine, choline and glutamine. The brand was founded by Sierra Hooshiari following a traumatic brain injury.

“After my injury, I became obsessed with brain health,” Hooshiari said. “I wanted a caffeine beverage that worked with my brain, not against it.”

Beverage startup Ginny introduced a line of non-alcoholic spritzers formulated to support the nervous system. The beverages combine botanical ingredients from Africa and South Asia with functional adaptogen ingredients such as tulsi, goji and ginseng.

“Crafted as a social tonic for your nervous system, Ginny blends cultural tradition with modern function to offer a new kind of drinking ritual — one that feels good and does good,” said Bianci Mensah, co-Founder of Ginny. “Each can is infused with 4,000 mgs of adaptogens to support stress relief, focus and mood.”
