LEHIGH VALLEY, PA. — Turkish candy manufacturer Kervan USA is expanding its operations in the United States with plans to open a $20 million packaging and manufacturing facility in Lehigh Valley. The company first expanded to the United States in 2011 selling bulk candy, according to the company.

Kervan is currently headquartered in Whitehall Township, which is in Lehigh Valley county, and also has packaging and distribution locations in New Jersey.

The company plans to consolidate those operations and will add manufacturing at a 90,000-square-foot building in Lower Nazareth and Bethlehem townships.

The facility is currently under construction and is expected to open next year.

With the facility, the company said it plans to import products to its new Lehigh Valley location through the port in Newark, NJ, and also package them for distribution.

Kervan manufactures over 200 types of candy varieties that include gummies, licorice and marshmallow candy under its Bebeto and Yummy Yummy brands in Turkey, Poland and Egypt.

Kervan also is found in retailers under the Crayola, Curious George, Peanuts and Sunkist licenses.
