WATERTOWN, WIS. — First Lady Michelle Obama and director and producer Eva Longoria have teamed up with the Partnership for a Healthier America to introduce the Drink Up initiative, an effort to encourage everyone to drink more water.
“Since we started the Let’s Move! initiative, I’ve been looking for as many ways as possible to help families and kids lead healthier lives,” Ms. Obama said. “I’ve come to realize that if we were going to take just one step to make ourselves and our families healthier, probably the single best thing we could do is to simply drink more water. That’s it – it’s really that simple. Drink just one more glass of water a day and you can make a real difference for your health, your energy and the way you feel.”
Supporters of the effort will begin to carry the Drink Up logo on almost 300 million packs of bottled water, more than half a billion bottles of water, 200,000 packages of reusable bottles and more than 10,000 reusable bottles over the next few years. Also, more than 10,000 outdoor public taps will carry the logo over the next several years.
Partners with the effort include Brita and Soma as water filter companies; public drinking stations, including Globaltap; reusable water bottle companies such as S’Well Bottle; bottled water brands such as Aquafina, Beverly Hills 90H20, Dasani, Evian Natural Spring Water, Hint, Voss, and Wat-aah!. Nestle Waters North America also will participate with its Arrowhead, Deer Park, Ice Mountain, Nestle Pure Life, Ozarka, Poland Spring, resource and Zephyrhills brands.

The American Beverage Association and the International Bottled Water Association also are supporting the effort.
